These could be places with a powerful spiritual energy – stone circles, fairy trees, holy wells, monastic ruins, sacred hills and mountains – all places that were marked as sacred by the people who lived in or near them centuries ago. These thin places are sites where people still go to feed their minds and spirits.

The book includes commentary about 33 sites in Ireland – some as familiar as Glendalough, the Hill of Tara, Newgrange, Croagh Patrick, Glencolumkille, and the Aran Islands, and some more obscure like Ardboe, St. Berrihert’s Kyle, Cashelkeelty Stone Circle, Whitepark Bay, Ardmore and Doolough. Additionally, the book will highlight concepts based on old pagan beliefs such as the healing energy of trees and stones, identifying ley lines, sacred rituals, and the connection between sacred sites, geography and the Celtic year.

Mindie Burgoyne has been traveling to Ireland and researching thin places for 20 years. This book is an accumulation of the most mystical places she’s been. It allows the reader to go on a vicarious journey – walking in two worlds.
