Hello! My name is Claire Blanchard and found your site last year. I am anxious to participate in one of your tours. I have written to you via the postal system and am looking forward to your response. At your convenience, I would appreciate more information from you. Thank you!
Glad you found us, Claire. We look forward to having you on the Discover the North tour. Thanks for your interest.
I’ve attempted to email without response. I was wanting to participate in a tour covering Scotland and Ireland in January- feb2021. I am a single traveler
. Is there a tour at this time?
Michelle
Hi Michelle. Thanks so much for your interest. Our tours run in the Spring and Fall each year. We’re a small, niche tour operation. We don’t do group tours in Jan and Feb, but we can help you arrange a thin places tour itinerary if you want to book an individual travel experience. Please feel free to email at contact@thinplaces.net
After reading your posts it seems like participants of your tours need to be physically fit; that there will be a lot of walking and standing. Is that true?
Hi Linda. I think we’ve already spoken, but to clarify for those who might read these comments …. one needs to be physically fit enough to walk at least a mile at a time on uneven pavement. We do about three stops per day and there’s at least an hour for each stop where guests are on their feet. Sometimes we must walk to the destination from the roadside. Our sites are usually in the rural areas away from paved roads.
That being said, we’ve had guests over 80 years old who do very well. If a guest is too tired to make the trek out to the site, they are welcome to stay on the coach. Thanks for reaching out.
I had the honor of visiting Ireland in March 2012 with a college tour group. We saw many things in our 10days but this tour is just what I’m looking for. I’ve been saying for 2 years now that I’m going back to Ireland. I’ve always had an interest in the spiritual, mystical worlds and want to learn more. Unfortunately, I just found your page and as I have already booked 2 weddings to photograph in September, I won’t be able to go on this one. Do you have plans for other tours next year? I would be so very interested. Thank you.
Yes, Patricia. We have just added in another tour next year. The dates will be officially announced on October 1st, but I can let you know that the dates are:
1. Discover the West – May 14-24, 2015
2. Discover the North – July 9-19, 2015
3. Islands, Mountains & Stone – Sept 10-20
Hope you can join us on a tour.
When will we be able to register for the September 2015 tour? This will be in the South and West, correct? Can’t wait!
Hi Mindy & Dan…I am interested in visiting Ireland for the first time in 2016…and just read up on the tour you did in September 2014 – Castles, Saint & Druids. Would you be planning a similar tour next year or the year after (2016 or 2017)? I am very interested in something similar if possible? Any information on future tours would be appreciated for planning purposes…thank-you!…Val
Hi Mindie!
I’ve been delighting in your website and am interested in joining you for a tour.
Will you be doing any more Castles, Saints and Druids?
Thanks and have a great day!
Hi Shereen. We should be posting the 2018 tour in the next week! Yes we will be doing Castles, Saints and Druids! Be sure to sign up for our email list. That’s how we’ll get the word out. http://bit.ly/1FbMQWr
